What does ‘sides’ mean?
“Sides” is a shorter way of saying transaction sides. A typical residential real estate transaction has two sides: the buyer and seller. Usually, each side has its own representation, but it is possible for one agent to handle both sides. When the transaction is completed, the listing agent and selling agent each get credited with one side. For example, if an individual or team represented only the buyer in the sale of 10 homes in one year, then that would be 10 sides. In some cases, two agents working as co-listers or representing a buyer together will each get credited with half of a transaction side.
That’s a lot of money. What is meant by ‘volume’?
“Annual Sales Volume” is the total value of all the properties sold by the individual or team in one year. For example, if an individual sold two $500,000 homes in one year, the annual sales volume would be $1,000,000. Sales volume should not be confused with commissions, revenue, or how much an individual or team earns.
