Longtime Huntsville locals Chris Ray and his business partner Kurt Morgenweck wanted to create a hub for their community to gather and celebrate moments both big and small, and in 2019 they did just that when they opened The Brass Tap. For holidays, birthdays, game night, Tuesday Trivia, karaoke, or simply a night out with friends and family, The Brass Tap Huntsville provides the perfect atmosphere through live music, trivia, sports, exclusive beer tastings and tap takeovers.
HM: Tell us a bit about yourself – where are you from? How long have you been in the Huntsville area?
Chris: The Brass Tap is a National franchise, but we are a locally-owned business. My business partner Kurt Morgenweck and I are from Huntsville. We live, work, and play here.
HM: What is your favorite part about owning a business in the Huntsville area?
Chris: Meeting the community. My business partner and I are operational owners. This gives us the opportunity to meet a wide variety of guests that walk through our doors.
HM: Why did you choose The Brass Tap to bring to Huntsville?
Chris: We really wanted to provide a fun social gathering location for people to enjoy a great selection of craft beers, cocktails, and food. We are a craft beer bar at heart, but we offer so much more. We are a gathering place for sporting events, business meetings, birthdays, work parties, and more.
HM: What is your personal favorite draft beer?
Chris: I am a fan of most beers. This time of year my go-to craft beer is a refreshing sour.
HM: What are some of your favorite offerings from The Brass Tap?
Chris: My favorite offerings are our lunch specials. We have amazing food and great lunch specials. We offer a different lunch special Monday – Thursday from 11 am until 2 pm.
